How Do I contact Escape Plan Charters?

 

What is included in my charter?

Everything is here. Rods, reels, tackle, fuel, captain, and first mate, as well as bottled water. We also include live bait that is sourced fresh before each trip. The live bait we use is one of the most effective and expensive baits for billfishing.

What do I need to bring?

You should bring sunscreen, a windbreaker/jacket, and any snacks or drinks that you would like. You do not need a fishing license on “Escape Plan”. The vessel is fully licensed for up to 10 guests to fish.

If I catch a fish, can I eat it?

The waters in the areas that we fish in hold some of the best eating fish in the world. We typically catch great tasting seafood that you can take home with you, from Mahi, Grouper, Snapper, it’s here. We do catch and release most billfish in accordance with conservation practices and state wildlife laws.

How far offshore do we go?

The waters in the area that we fish are extremely close to the Gulf Stream and therefore the fishing grounds are easy to get to with a short ride of between 15-20 minutes. Sit back and enjoy the ride! You’ll be on the fish in no time.

What kind of bait and Equipment do we use?

We use freshly sourced goggle eyes, one of the most effective billfish baits there is. A dozen of these can run upwards of $100. Nothing but the best for our customers!

“Escape Plan” is fully sponsored and will have all the latest and greatest reels from quality manufactures, mounted on 20# custom rods built exclusively for our fishery and needs. Nothing will ever be old, rusted/corroded or abused!

What kind of fishing do we do?

Our captain and mate are skilled at bump trolling, kite fishing, bottom fishing, and drift fishing. We have the equipment on board to do any of these types of fishing. Just let them know what you’re interested in catching and we’ll be happy to accommodate you.

Do you offer sunset cruises?

Escape Plan offers sunset cruises during daylight savings time hours on Wednesdays and Saturdays each week. You can reserve a space on board or you can charter the boat. Champagne, fresh snacks, and fruit are included.

How do I book a charter?

If you’re interested in booking a charter, you can reserve your date and time online under the “Book Now” page. Or, you can call and speak to our crew (info is on linked page).

Is there a deposit?

In order to book a charter, a $200 deposit is required at the time of booking. You can do this online or call a representative directly; we’ll be glad to take your information.

What happens if I decide to cancel?

Fishing Charters –  No worries, if you have to cancel, its fine but please call 24 hours before as the worst case. If you elect to go in early due to sea-sickness or lousy weather you may also select to fish the calm waters inshore. Any collected deposits are refunded as long as you cancel 7 full days prior to departure day. Deposits may also be applied to any future trips.

Are gratuities expected?

Gratuities for the crew, who are working extremely hard for you, are encouraged. A rough guideline is 20% and up of the booked rate of the charter based on service.

How about COVID-19?

Escape Plan is thoroughly cleaned and disinfected with an antiviral agent, and all guests are encouraged to social distance and use a mask. In the event of a cancellation due to COVID-19, we understand the unpredictability and seriousness of this and will provide a full refund of your deposit.

When is the remainder of my charter payment due?

You may pay the remainder with our captain and crew at the dock via cash or credit card. We offer a $25 discount for cash, which is preferred.

What if I lose or break one of my possessions while on board (ie. camera, cell phone, etc.)?

If you drop a rod/reel overboard or lose it while fighting a fish or during the landing a fish, it’s your responsibility to cover the retail costs of a new setup immediately following the trip, at $450.00.

All guests are responsible for anything that they bring on board. Since we are in a moving vessel, which is underway and can shift unexpectedly, you should not bring any valuable possessions on board
